About Jacquelynn
So you want to get to know me…three words: Disco, Food, Art.
I’m Jacquelynn Alexis Barli, a painter based in Atlanta, GA. I graduated with a BFA in Fine Arts from Ringling College Of Art & Design in 2014, and am passionate about textures and the way colors can blend together. In my paintings I portray figures and objects mostly – observations from my daily life. Each painting consists of a layering and scraping process, resulting in a rich texture. Touch is important in my process, even if it is a bit taboo in the art world to touch art… I always encourage it! Each painting is anywhere from 6- 30 layers of materials. It all depends on where the artwork takes me, sometimes by layer 6 its complete and other times I will work for years until it gets the final feel it needs. The best part is that you can still see all the layers underneath, it’s like a compendium of the process. My color palette is very earthy with a hint of bright energetic undertones. I like to start loud and then cover with a more calming feel. There is something so great about the way the reds and yellows come through in the paintings.
Each piece has its own great story to tell! Hope you enjoy!
